**Spoilers (but not
about what happens to certain people)**
It has been 10 years in the making
of this wonderful masterpiece that is Avengers:
Infinity War. When Iron Man came
out I was only the young age of 10 and now I’m 20. The Marvel Comic Universe (MCU)
has been a part of half of my life. They are part of the reason why I love
movies so much; even for me not being a huge comic book nerd. So, you can imagine the excitement
going through my entire body walking in to see this movie opening weekend on
Sunday.
Josh Brolin played an amazing Thanos. He has to be a good villain, seeing that he's playing Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2 movie. The movie you can say was told in his point of view but at the same time it wasn't. You get to see some of his past and his father-daughter relationship with Gamora plus his point of view of the world.
Looking back on the film, I believe the two standouts were Thor and
Doctor Strange.
After seeing Thor: Ragnarok, we
know that Thor can bring some comedic relief which he does in this film. With his
interactions with the Guardians to introducing Groot as his friend “Tree.” There’s also
the fact that he is the God of Thunder and the movie really shows that off to
the audience. With his new axe the “stormbreaker” he enters the fight in Wakanda like
it’s nobody’s business. I don’t know how
to describe it except for the fact that it’s “ELECTRIFYING,” if you know what I
mean.
Then there is Doctor Strange, who’s solo film I think is better than
where other people may place it on their marvel list. Nonetheless, in the film
we get too see some amazing powers from him. At one point he has like 50 arms
and then later duplicates himself to attack Thanos. I believe for a fact
that Strange is up there with the most powerful heroes in the bunch. He also
has some hilarious interactions with people such as Tony Stark (Iron Man) and
Peter Parker (Spiderman). Above all that he gives us the most information on what is
to come in the second half of the unnamed Avengers movie. He mentions how there’s only one way they can
win out of all the possible outcomes that he has seen. So, I feel as if that’s
why he gave the time stone to Thanos and saved Tony’s life. There’s only one
way this can go right.
I would have to
say I have three scenes that were above all my favorites. The first would have
to be when the Guardians of the Galaxy met Thor. With Quill (Starlord) trying to
one up Thor, Thor calling Rocket a rabbit, and Drax describing Thor as a
pirate/angel is hilarious. The second is
when Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Starlord, Drax, Mantis, Spider-man, and Nebula
are all trying to defeat Thanos on the planet Titan. Lastly, again the scene
where Thor arrives in Wakanda and defeats a whole bunch of the alien monsters
at once. What can I say, I love me some Thor/ Chris Hemsworth.
I really, deeply, and truly loved this movie as a fan and
having been here from the beginning. However, I will say you have to have
already been a fan to watch this one, or else you’ll just be confused. However, after laughing and crying my
way through Infinity War, I hope to
go to the theater to see it a second time. That way the pain of having to wait
a whole year for the next one will not hurt that much.
I do on the other hand have two
questions that have been jumping around in my mind for the past couple of days.
Will Hawkeye and Ant-man come
in the second half?
And what happened to Valkyrie,
Korg, and Meek? You would only understand that question if you’ve seen Thor: Ragnarok and seen the beginning of
Avengers: Infinty War.
